Group sessions Vs One to One Tutoring

One of the most asked questions about our revision courses...Why are group sessions better than one to one tutoring?

Having a small class size is very important to us in order to achieve the balance between individual support and gaining valuable peer interaction on a common subject.

We know one to one tuition has its place in the world of revision.  If a student is particularly struggling on a certain topic or requires very bespoke tuition, then it will of course be beneficial, however when it comes to the Easter holidays, we believe the best approach is completing intensive revision as a group in a structured environment.

Group revision benefits…

  • Revision is more engaging and motivational!

  • Students can work though difficult topics together and gain support and confidence in knowing others are encountering similar difficulties.

  • Each student maintains independence in their learning.  Quiet often one-to-one sessions can be relied upon too heavily in a student’s study programme and the ability to work independently can be lost.

  • A greater range of teaching activities to enhance understanding can be used when there is a group of students.

  • Longer blocks of effective revision can be completed.  Our Easter revision courses cover 24 hours of tuition across 4 days!

  • Group revision can be more cost effective.  One to One tuition comes at a premium especially for subjects high in demand, by working in a group setting the hourly rate can remain reasonable.

Hear from our past A-level students who have used group sessions to support their revision over Easter half term.
