Tutor Spotlight
Gemma Chadwick
Gemma is an Assistant Head of Biology with over 10 years teaching experience in outstanding sixth form colleges. She is proud to be a leader of a Grade 1 Biology Department where student results are excellent. Gemma was mentored by an A Level Biology Chief Examiner and also nominated for the prestigious Teacher of the Year Award. Gemma holds a PGCE, Masters in Biological Research and BSc in Biology from Manchester University.
As a young scientist Gemma studied A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Physics at sixth form and is very passionate about science as a whole. This breadth of understanding and enthusiasm captivates, inspires and motivates her students to follow their own scientific and medical career aspirations.
Sara Wilkinson
Sara has over 20 years’ experience both as a teacher of A level and Head of Department in Sixth Form Colleges in the North of England.
Sara is also both an examiner and moderator for AQA (a role she has held for 18 years) holding a senior role since 2012.
What Sara has to say about her subject….
Having previously worked in tropical medicine research prior to becoming a teacher, I love topics on immunity. Since becoming a teacher, I find teaching all aspects of genetics and genetic engineering to be my favourite as it is a more modern area of the subject. To be honest though I just love any aspect of biology.... Even plants. None of us would be here without them!
Tamara White
Tammie is an enthusiastic biology tutor with school, college and university teaching experience. Tammie holds an MSc in Biological Diversity and many years of teaching and tutoring experience at A level on both AQA and OCR Biology courses.
Tammie has helped a diverse range of students achieve their goals, including aspiring vets and medics, while others have gone on to study biomedical science and environmental science.
